Dear Huu,
1. The first priority when using the Flying Star Feng Shui is to check for imbalances and there is, you need to neutralise it first.
2. Only after you have `done' Para 1, then you should consider looking at `activating' the mountain star.
Thus, there are no fixed `rule' as to the object used.
Under Flying Star, and `activating' the mountain star, thus, one should use an object with `mass'.
Where one uses a object with mass, one must remember to take not of any imbalance caused at that sector FIRST and the type of element that could create `further imbalance.
For example, if the sector has a bad #2 or #5, it would not be "wise" to use an earth object e.g. generally, e.g. a stone. As this would further cause an imbalance.
3. Usually, the mountain star is effective in a room or the backdoor and could provide `false' hope or similar to `fools gold' that it can be effective in the living room.
Thus, if it is in a room, and with a high wall or `supported' by a wall this would be acceptable.
4. You mentioned that the mountar star falls partially in a bedroom and the dining room, it may be more difficult to activate.
For the dining room, it is quite similar to the living room and at the centre area, clear space would be better.
Based on your brief description, it is difficult to `activate' the mountain star. But if you want, you can activate it in the bedroom area but be careful, that it does not case a `danger' should it fall off.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
