Dear Liang,
Under the Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is preferred not to have an air well in the middle of the house.
However, from the illustration, you had provided, it looks like the air well is at one side of house.
It is advisable not to place a water feature especially close to the centrepoint of the house as this is `bad Feng Shui'. This is because water (under I-ching implies difficulty) and a water position there would not be ideal.
It would equally not be good to plant a lone tree there as this is equally bad Feng Shui.
In your case, try to leave a clear space i.e. you can if you want to have small pots of plants within the air well.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
